Lil Wayne Sues Universal For Unpaid Royalties

At this point, Rihanna could possibly be Lil Wayne’s representation due to the “B***h Better Have My Money” approach he’s taken towards Universal, the distribution company for Cash Money Records.  According to a federal lawsuit filed by his attorney Howard E. King on Monday, royalties that’s owe to Wayne is going towards the debt of Cash Money instead.  Reported by Hollywoodreporter, the New Orleans native claims he been shorted millions from his work for artists such as Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga.

Apparently, Cash Money Records inked a new deal with Universal, resulting in a $100 Million cash advance.  Which Baby refers to the lump sum on an episode of Big Boy’s Neighborhood.

However, Wayne claims that the 100-mil was for Cash Money, not his YMCMB imprint, which is a subsidiary of CMR.  Therefore, he feels as though that’s not an obligation of his to repay.

Since, of course, a cash advance has to be repaid, Universal Music Group is garnishing all profits from both CMR and YMCMB, in attempt to recoup the monies they’ve invested.
