(R&B) What’s Your Favorite Mariah Carey Hip Hop Feature from the 90’s?

Back in the Summer, Mariah Carey made an attempt to trademark the phrase, “Queen of Christmas.” However, she was met with resistance from other female singers such as Darlene Love and Elizabeth Chan who is also associated with the phrase. While they debate over that, there’s something I would like to debate over: 90s Hip Hop songs featuring Mariah.

I think its safe to say that Mariah Carey is a Pop/R&B singer. However, early in her career she was more on the Pop side of things. Songs such as “Someday” & “Daydreamer” among others, topped the Pop charts with ease.

But in the late 90’s, Mariah sort of went through a transitional phase in terms of her personal life and music. She ended her business and personal relationship with then-husband and Columbia Records CEO, Tommy Mottola and her sound went from Pop to more R&B — with a little bit of Hip Hop flavoring.

For anyone who thought that was a mistake, Mariah has 5 reasons that says otherwise.  Which leads us to our debate. Which was your favorite 90s Hip Hop song, featuring Mariah Carey?

*Note: Remember, this debate is from the 90’s. This is prior to her linking up with Jermaine Dupri to create The Emancipation of Mimi, her 2005 hit album.
