T.I.’s ‘Paper Trail’ or Boosie’s ‘Touch Down 2 Cause Hell’?

What’s snitching? What’s not snitching? That seems to be the daily A-Topic among the Hip Hop community. From my vantage point, it’s never been a peaceful conversation. In fact, Southern legends, T.I. and Boosie, aren’t on one of accord because of it. While I prefer not to get into that, I would like to settle the issue in HHAD fashion: Paper Trail vs Touch Down 2 Cause Hell, T.I. and Boosie’s biggest albums, respectively.

T.I. released Paper Trail, his sixth album first in 2008. Unfortunately, he was awaiting trial for federal weapons and possession charges while working on this album. Songs such as “Live Your Life” and “Dead and Gone,” to name a few, were a reflection of the turbulent time.

Nevertheless, the shaky times didn’t stop the Bankhead ambassador from going at the late Shawty Lo, his nemesis at the time, in “What Up, What’s Haapnin.”

Paper Trail found success on the charts, reaching number 1 on 3 charts; US Billboard 200, US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and US Top Rap Albums. The album was certified 2X platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Boosie’s Touch Down 2 Cause Hell came 5 years later. Ironically, it was his sixth album as well. And also, like T.I., Boosie’s legal woes were influential in the creation. He’d just been released from prison after serving 5 years for multiple charges.

Boosie hit the ground running, linking up with partner-in-rhyme, Webbie to create “On That Level.”

Boosie Boo would release other singles such as “Like a Man” and “Retaliation.”

TD2CH did well on the charts, reaching the number 3 and 2 spot on the US Billboard 200, and US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

It is my prayer that T.I. and Boosie settled their differences. But in the meantime, we’ll peacefully discuss their albums.
