When it comes to diss records, Ice Cube’s “No Vaseline” was one of the few that set the bar. But what about when Cube was on the receiving end of a lyrical assault? Let’s talk about Common’s “The Bitch In Yoo.”
Released in 1996, the Southside-native had a few choice words for the former NWA member.

“A b***h n***a with an attitude named Cube,” Common raps. “Stepped to the Com with a feud. Now, what the f**k I look like dissing a whole coast, you ain’t made s**t dope since AmeriKKKa’s Most.”
Mack 10 and WC weren’t off the hook. “Rap career is over, better off acting. What trouble I see, you’re managing WC and Wack 10.”
The misunderstanding came when Cube, and The Westside Connection, took offense to a few bars from Common’s 1994-hit, “I Used to Love H.E.R.” — a track using a woman as a metaphor to portray the evolution of Hip Hop. Their distaste was expressed in “Westside Slaughterhouse.”
Of course, the rappers have made peace, music, and movies since then. But for the record, did Common do any damage?
