That Time Gucci Mane was Warned Not to Perform in a Specific City, But He Did Anyway

When Gucci Mane says he has changed, please believe him! If you’ve followed him throughout his career, you would agree. One incident that best describes this is an event from December 2012.

Gucci Mane was scheduled to perform at the Whiskey River in Jeezy’s hometown, Macon, Georgia. Days before he would hit the stage, he was informed by a person we’ll call “a citizen of Macon” that he was NOT welcome.

“We know you staffed up with security,” the citizen of Macon calmly says in a video that has since been taken down.

“You surrounded and protected – at least that’s what they think. But I tell you what, you should stay home–stay home. Don’t come disrespecting our city like that, cause that’s what you trying to do.”

At the time, Gucci and Jeezy weren’t seeing eye to eye since they collaborated on their 2005 hit, “Icey.” Pookie Loc, a man Gucci fatally shot in self-defense, was an affiliate of the Snowman and was from Macon, aka Mac-town. Guwop brought up the incident in his (at the time) latest mixtape, Trap God, which led to the big warm “unwelcoming.”

Nevertheless, Guwop showed up!!  Surprisingly, the crowd loved him.

Since then, Gucci Mane and Jeezy have been on good terms ever since they signed the peace treaty after their Verzuz. Maybe one day we’ll get an “Icey PT. 2”
