Boosie Badazz Says He’s Done with Baton Rouge for Good!

Boosie Badazz Says He’s Done with Baton Rouge for Good!

The state of Louisiana has been notoriously known for not giving the accused a fair trial. When it comes to members of the Hip Hop community, the system has really shown its unfair practices. C-Murder, Mac, and Boosie Badazz—all Louisiana natives—claim they’ve been victims of a failed system. This is one of the reasons why Boosie left his hometown of Baton Rouge behind for the more Hip Hop–receptive Atlanta, Georgia.

“I had a big problem with the court systems and, um, district attorneys, prosecutors; a lot of people were trying to take my life as far as, ya know, in the court systems,” Boosie said in 2016 interview with VladTV.

“I was childish. I made songs about public officials and things like that. Those people don’t forget that, and I don’t trust people like that. It’s nothing for them—or me—to be riding down the street, and they just stop and throw a gun in my car: convicted felon with a firearm.”

Corruption in law enforcement is enough for anybody to pack up and leave. However, jealousy and envy were additional reasons Boosie had to leave the city he had grown to love.

“Also, I had haters out there, and it’s always like that. Wherever you’re from, you get hated the most. Most rappers die in their own city—it’s a fact.”

To support Boosie’s claim, Big L, Jam Master Jay, and Doe B are just a few rappers who were murdered in their hometowns.

Later in the interview, Boosie expressed his love for Baton Rouge and said he will always return for performances. However, he has no plans to return as a resident.
