(R&B) Amerie’s ‘All I Have’; Classic!, Jammin’, Regular, or Not Impressed?

Warmer days are here. The sun is hanging out a little longer. What does that mean in the R&B world? It’s “Amerie season.” Let’s talk about her and her debut, All I Have.

Amerie came out of the gate with “Why Don’t We Fall in Love,” an upbeat love anthem that would stand the test of time. And essentially coined the phrase, “Amerie season.”

The single peeked at number 23 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 9 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

Although minor, the album produced a second hit, “Talkin’ to Me.”

Other notable songs from the album are “I Just Died” and “Show Me.”

The album was produced by Washington DC-native, Rich Harrison.

All I Have peaked at number 1 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and peaked at number 9 on the US Billboard 200. The album was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.

All I Have may not have put up the numbers that other R&B albums did. However, the album’s lead single has become a fixture in our love lives. That’s an accomplishment within itself.
